Was Kingda Ka originally going to be placed at Six Flags Over Texas?
I was browing the web the other day and read on a forum somewhere where Kingda Ka, the tallest and fastest coaster, was originally going to be placed at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, TX, instead of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. Due to the flight path of the DFW airplanes, it could not be placed in SFOT. Does anybody know if this is true?

Not true, but not because of airplanes. SF Inc. always wanted it in Jersey, feeling they needed a "signature" coaster. SFOT already had the LIM-launched Mr. Freeze that is barely 10 years old. Wouldn't have made sense to put another launcher so soon after the first. Ironically, Mr. Freeze was originally going to be installed at the now-defunct AstroWorld in Houston. Plans for that changed when the limited partnership that owns 51% of SFOT threw some power around and got it shipped to SFOT instead, feeling the park was in need of another major coaster installation.
