Flying alone for the first time?
I'm taking a trip in April on my own for the first time. I'm extremely nervous. I have to switch planes at DCA (Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, VA). I'm flying with US Airways. However, when I booked my flight, it says that different flights are operated by US Airways, US Airways Express, etc. Are there different gates/counters to go to for that? My flights are US AIrways Express. Can I just go to any US Airways counter? When I get off the plane at DCA, where do I go to wait to get on my connecting flight? Do I have to pass through security again? Also, my luggage will be taken to my next plane, right? How early should I be at the airport before my flight?

u should get to the airport about 2 hours early before. It is a connecting flight so when you have landed at your 1st destination you will look for a sing saying connection flights and then you follow down there... dont go with other passengers cos they might be not getting another flight. Once you go to connecting flight you got to go through security again checking ur ticket etc and then wait in their departue lounge. Make sure you know what gate to go to.... the viola when it saysopen gate go to it .... then wait to be boarderd:)

US Airways Express is the brand name for US Airways commuter flights. Generally, they are smaller aircraft and shorter flights. Yes, you check in with US Airways, and treat the "Express" flight like any other US Airways. In some airports, commuter flights do go out of a different concourse or terminal, so check with US Airways. Gate assignments are not normally made more than 24 hours in advance, so the night before, check the flight info online, and then check the map of your connecting airport to see where you need to go. The airport will be well-marked, so you really don't need to worry. Everything you need will be on US Air's website, or you can call them for info.
